Why doesn’t it immediately hurt when I find out I have a cavity?

Just because your mouth doesn’t hurt, it doesn’t mean that nothing is wrong with your teeth. Often, cavities don’t hurt until long after they go untreated, and that only makes things worse. It is best to get a thorough dental exam to diagnose and treat problems early because waiting won’t only be more painful, but more expensive.
